Japan: If defending whales is a crime, arrest me.

If Junichi Sato and Toru Suzuki have committed a crime by opposing the scandal and corruption of the Japanese whaling programme, you must arrest me for assisting them.

All of us who have supported efforts to save the whales with time, money, or by lending our name to letter writing campaigns, petitions, virtual marches, or e-cards are complicit in Junichi and Toru's actions.

If you are going to start rounding up political prisoners for the crime of defending whales, you will need to arrest a great many people around the world.

jimmy eats world -hear you me

There's no one in town I know
You gave us some place to go.
I never said thank you for that.
I thought I might get one more chance.
What would you think of me now,
so lucky, so strong, so proud?
I never said thank you for that,
now I'll never have a chance.
May angels lead you in.
Hear you me my friends.
On sleepless roads the sleepless go.
May angels lead you in.
So what would you think of me now,
so lucky, so strong, so proud?
I never said thank you for that,
now I'll never have a chance.
May angels lead you in.
Hear you me my friends.
On sleepless roads the sleepless go.
May angels lead you in.
May angels lead you in.
May angels lead you in.
And if you were with me tonight,
I'd sing to you just one more time.
A song for a heart so big,
god wouldn't let it live.
May angels lead you in.
Hear you me my friends.
On sleepless roads the sleepless go.
May angels lead you in.
May angels lead you in.
Hear you me my friends.
On sleepless roads the sleepless go.
May angels lead you in.
May angels lead you in.

steve madden for a steal

Shopping day on a Monday does not get any better. Browsing through at Myers in Perth City, Steve Madden's were always tempting to me minus the ridiculous price tag on the student/unemployed budget. The whole rack was on sale starting from AUD49.95 till AUD 99.95. I decided to try on a gorgeous pair of oxfords but found it hard to walk in. I was so tempted to get the wellington/garden boots in tartan design for like AUD14.95 but then I might be heading back to KL soon. hmmm...while sitting there staring around at all the shoes, I spotted a platform/wedge heel in grey. I tried it on because it was in my size and I was thinking I should just try as many shoes I can there so I would not need to keep on wearing on my boots. It was comfortable and so ultra cute! When I looked at the price, I was in a stunned-mode. AUD19.95. SERIOUSLY? From AUD99.95 to AUD19.95? Quickly I lined up to get the other side. It was a steal dont you think? I am totally in love with it hence the long blog post!

Steve Madden's Benji in Taupe

Apprently, Steve Madden in Australia is closing down hence the sale. Well, I just have to go browsing around in other Myers to see any bargains! Sorry for the ugly photo.

Other note : Shaun's graduation day. Sorry I can't be there on the special day but do have fun!

the cove

On Wednesday my friend invited me to watch a movie at Cinema Paradiso in Northbridge. Not knowing what to expect since it was Cinema Paradiso ( think artsy-), I went along on a rainy evening. The movie was called The Cove. From the explanation they gave us, I thought it was more between the lines of murder/secret type. Anyways, I was pretty naive. Only after the movie I "wiki-ed" it up.

"The Cove is a 2009 documentary film documenting the annual killing of more than 2,500 dolphins in a cove at Taiji, Wakayama in Japan."

Overall the docu-movie was really an eye opener. Such killings should not take place at all. From the movie, nearly 90% of the people in Japan does not know the atrocities of dolphin killing is going on. They do not even know that dolphin meat is even consumed. If you guys are wondering where does the meat go? Apparently they pass it off as whale meat in the supermarket. Dolphin meat has 2000ppm of mercury much more higher than the legal limit of 0.4ppm for any fish. Its not only about the dolphins being killed, after the fisherman's round out all the dolphins to the cove, dolphin instructors from all over the world would basically pick out which dolphins for their aquariums around the world. The dolphins which aren't pick, are the ones that are slaughtered. At the end of the day, people like me and you are the ones that support the trade by going to see this dolphins/swim with them.

I know what I might have just wrote might be gibblish. But I do believe if you are able to create awareness, it makes the world a whole better place. So if just one signature or one lousy blog post can make the difference, why not right?

I have linked the petition site on my facebook profile page or you can just get it here : http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/724210624?z00m=19775525
Just 2 minutes of your time can make the difference!

You can head to The Cove movie website at http://www.thecovemovie.com for more information for viewing times.

It would be awesome if you guys just spread the word about the petition around or just write up or copy my lousy post!
There is more information that I have got but I have managed to misplace it somewhere. Next post!
